Transfer a domain name

Move an existing domain to Mutire Cloud so billing and DNS sit with your infrastructure.

Transfers bring an active domain under Mutire management. You keep the remaining registration period, and an extra year is added when registry policy allows it.

Prepare the losing registrar first. Transfers fail most often because the domain is locked, too new, or the auth code is missing.

Prepare at your current registrar

  • Unlock the domain

disable registrar lock so the transfer can proceed.

  • Get the auth code

copy the EPP or authorization code from the losing registrar.

  • Confirm age

most gTLDs require the domain to be older than 60 days.

  • Watch admin email

approve any transfer confirmation sent to the domain contacts.

Start the transfer in Mutire

  1. Open Domain Transfer

in the console, go to Domain, then Transfer.

  2. Enter the domain

type the full domain name you want to move.

  3. Paste the auth code

enter the EPP or authorization code from the losing registrar.

  4. Complete checkout

confirm pricing and pay with a saved payment method.

  5. Approve and wait

accept any email approvals, then monitor the transfer until it completes.
